Building a full-stack website with just prompts
For years, building a complex website meant writing every line of code yourself: the frontend, the backend, the database schema, the deployment scripts. That process is changing fast. In my latest project, I built a complete full-stack web application using AI, and the entire workflow is now up on YouTube.
Instead of typing out every function and component by hand, I used natural language prompts with Claude Code to write, structure, and debug the application. The result is a fully working system, built faster than a traditional manual workflow would allow.
This workflow combines a modern web stack with AI at the center of the process:
New Browser for research and testing
VS Code as the development environment
Claude Code for AI-assisted coding and prompting
Next.js as the web framework
GitHub for version control
Supabase as the database and backend
Vercel for deployment
Namecheap for the custom domain
Each tool plays a specific role, and together they form a repeatable pipeline: write with AI, version on GitHub, store data in Supabase, deploy on Vercel, and go live on a custom domain.
The process starts in the browser and VS Code, where Claude Code is used to describe what the application should do in plain language. Rather than manually scaffolding files or writing boilerplate, prompts guide Claude Code to generate the Next.js structure, build out pages and components, and wire up logic.
From there:
The database is set up and connected using Supabase.
Code changes are committed and pushed to GitHub.
The project is deployed live through Vercel.
A custom domain is connected using Namecheap.
The goal isn't to remove the developer from the process. It's to remove the repetitive parts, so more time goes into decisions that actually matter: structure, data design, and user experience.
This isn't just a shortcut. It's a shift in how full-stack applications can be built. AI coding tools like Claude Code make it possible to move from an idea to a working, deployed website in a fraction of the time a manual build would take, without cutting corners on functionality.
